Glow-In-The-Dark Ring Toss – An Evening Activity Full Of Fun

There are a variety of fun games you can bring along while camping! There is a more limited number of games that can be played during the night, so some creative thinking can help you to come up with some great, unique ideas! Glow-in-the-dark ring toss is an evening activity full of fun! It’s a fun and safe activity to keep your little campers enjoying themselves after the sun goes down!

Glow-in-the-dark ring toss is practically the same as its daytime counterpart, but uses glowing rings and spikes so that you can see them in the dark without additional light! This adds an element of trickiness to this activity, so everyone will have fun practicing and perfecting their nighttime tossing techniques!

Many online retailers sell neat versions of this game at very reasonable low prices! The reason these kits don’t have a high price tag is that they are made with glow sticks, which only temporarily glow for a few hours and, unfortunately, aren’t reusable, which is something to keep in mind when checking out the prices of these kits! Typically, these do include quite a few pieces, which could be used a couple nights in a row, depending on how many come included, and how many you use!

As with a lot of fun yard games, you could choose to make this into a fun and easy DIY project! It is simple to construct, with only few materials needed, and is perfect for the little ones to help out with! Plus, the price is nothing to scoff at either! Dollar stores always seem to have glow sticks (as well as other great camping supplies!) year-round, especially during the summer, and they only cost a dollar for a large pack! There are a few different ways you can set up this game, which is nice depending on what you have on hand!

Glow-In-The-Dark Ring Toss DIY

What you’ll need:

-Thin glow sticks, either necklace or bracelet sized

-Thicker, 6-inch or longer glow sticks

-Bottles of water (optional)

Instructions

To set up your ring toss, find a nice, even stretch of ground.

2. If you can find soft ground, place your thicker glow sticks directly into the ground for your tossing posts! For this option, it could be better to find the longer glow sticks, as they will provide more length to make ring toss easier!

3. If you cannot find soft ground, or can only find 6-inch glow sticks, place the glow sticks into water bottles and place them on even ground. Be sure to take the labels off so you can see the full glow effect! It is best to use water bottles that are still nearly full so they won’t be as easy to knock down!

4. Use the plastic connector pieces included with your long, thin glow sticks to form them into rings!

5. Enjoy a fun game of glow-in-the-dark ring toss!

*Note- we did not include numbers of glow sticks needed, as that can be determined by you! You can make as few or as many as you’d like, depending on how many players are participating!
