Getting out to the campground in the fall is a great way to break up the school year and help you and the kids unplug. Below are some of our best RV tips for camping in the fall so that you can make the most of your fall break vacation.

Plan for Rain

First and foremost, because of the fluctuating temperatures, you should expect it to rain during your stay. You can plan for this by packing plenty of things to do inside the RV, as well as lots of tarps, raincoats, rainboots, and more.

Bring Warm Drinks

One of the best ways to start the day at the campground is with a warm drink in hand. We like to bring along a little bit of something for everyone, including hot cider, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and any other warm drinks to help everyone wake up in the morning.

Pack Your Clothes in Layers

Packaging your clothing in layers is another way to plan for fluctuating temperatures. This will help you too. Stay cozy in the morning and evenings, but as the temperature rises near mid-day, you can take off a few layers until you’re comfortable.

Start Your Morning by Getting Moving

As mentioned above, mornings at the campground will likely be chilly. A great way to get your blood pumping and help wake you up is to take a hike or ride a bike first thing in the morning.

Spend Evenings Around the Fire

Bring plenty of blankets, and plan to spend your evenings cuddled around the campfire, telling stories or singing songs together. This is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, even if it gets chilly.
